Born on January 9th, 1987 in Paisley, Scotland, his father is of Italian descent and his mother is from Scotland.

Despite the fact that his father had been in Italy for a long time, he met his mother in Scotland, where they continued to live.

Nutini had no formal musical training and expected to follow his father into the family business selling 'fish and chips'.

The very first person who noticed his grandson's musical talent was his grandfather, who himself was very fond of music.

Paolo was a teacher but soon left school to work as a road builder and sell Speedway T-shirts and studied the music business for three years.

Sneddon was delayed a bit, and as the winner of an impromptu pop quiz, Nutini was given the opportunity to perform a couple of songs on stage while waiting.

The favorable response from the crowd impressed the music manager, who soon began working with Nutini.

First albums

His debut album, These Streets, produced by Ken Nelson (Coldplay/Gomez), was released on July 17, 2006 and entered the US album charts immediately at number three.

Many of the songs on the album, including "Last Request" and "Rewind", were inspired by a turbulent relationship with his girlfriend, and "Jenny Don't Be Hasty" is a true story about dating a grown woman.

On May 29, 2009 Nutini released his second studio album Sunny Side Up after the first single "Candy" was released on May 18.

Some reviewers were less impressed. It was described by Caroline Sullivan of The Guardian as "not bad", with the opening track "10/10".
