In 2010, they became the founding members of Dem Outta St8 Boyz. The brothers recorded their first video clip and posted it on YouTube. The quality of the footage could have been better. But true music lovers liked something else - the brothers perfectly rapped and "heard" the music with their hearts. Thanks to the first work, the musicians became successful. And even though this was not huge popularity, they began to be recognized in their hometown.
In 2011, the mother divorced her stepfather, which shocked the young guys very much. Their family's standard of living has deteriorated slightly. The brothers began to lead a nocturnal lifestyle, they held bright parties at home.
At one of the "parties" the brothers met P-Nasty, who was one of the members of the EarDrummers production team. The director of this team was Mike Will Made It. The brothers wanted to meet Mike Will Made It.
The band raised funds and traveled with P-Nasty to Atlanta. The musicians began to record tracks, but they turned out to be very "raw". They lacked their own "chips". Frustrated, they went to Mississippi.
Returning home, Akil continued to work at the factory. Caliph continued to study music, as he did not see himself in another area. P-Nasty listened to another track of young rappers and again invited them to Atlanta. But on the condition that this time they listen to his advice.
There was a long-awaited acquaintance with Michael Will. He did not see the prospects and special talent of the brothers, but decided to give the rappers a chance. The first solid performance took place as an opening act for rapper Future. Akil and Khalif performed on the big stage for no more than 20 minutes. However, they were able to conquer the audience with their music and creativity.
Musical "breakthrough" and first popularity
Since 2014, the brothers began working on the EarDrummers label, where they released their debut track No Flex Zone. A little later, a video clip for the musical composition was released. The next video clip of No Type, which the guys posted on YouTube, gained about 700 million views.
All producer risks have been nullified. Rae Sremmurd was well received by music lovers and music critics. The above compositions were included in the first studio album SremmLife.
A year after the presentation of the debut album, the musicians released the track This Could Be Us. In 2015, during a trip to South Africa, the brothers recorded a video clip.
