"Rayok" is an independent musical project of the popular beatmaker Pasha Slobodyanyuk and singer Oksana Nesenenko. The team was formed in 2018. The group member is a versatile person. In addition to the fact that Oksana sings cool, she draws incredibly beautifully. The Kyiv artist drew a clip for the rapper LSP. Nesenenko draws clips and covers for many stars.
The duet's music is designed to help you find yourself. The guys touch on different topics, so their compositions will go with a bang to music lovers of different ages. The musicians sing about stereotypes, self-acceptance, relationships with others and themselves, the search for one's "I". The songs of "Rayok" carry a deep meaning.
“Oksana and I got together in 2018 and almost immediately recorded several demos. We started recording a video for one of the tracks. It was quite a long process, which eventually resulted in something good. But, they decided to show the first piece of music to music lovers only in the summer of 2019, ”said Slobodyanyuk.
Band name history
When fans began to be interested in the history of the creation of the group's name, Oksana and Pavel decided to dispel the speculation that revolved around the stage name of the Ukrainian duet with their answer:
“Perhaps, someone does not know, but the rayok is a medieval traveling theater. It's kind of like a circus. Imagine a large closed box. Now imagine two magnifying glasses in one of the walls. They are designed to look at moving pictures inside. They show stories on the topic of the day, sort of like in a puppet theater. The screening is accompanied by a story/narrative. Everyone who comes up to the wall looks into the glass and listens to the stories. The stories are mostly based on religious parables and legends. People watch the action alone, having previously covered themselves with dark matter. Thus, an intimate atmosphere is created. This is happening at the present time as well. For example, watching porn videos on your phone. The perfect picture for today. I'm not sad that our world is built that way. I love what is happening today ... ".
All speculations were dispelled immediately, because especially religious personalities “finished” the story as if “Rayok” is a disrespectful form of the word “paradise”.
Members of the Ukrainian duet deserve special attention. As they say, the musicians themselves are absolutely different in character and habits. Pavel is an eccentric talker. In an interview, he behaves as liberated as possible: he jokes a lot, ironically, laughs. But, this behavior definitely paints him.
Oksana is reasonable, wise beyond her years, thoughtful. She is not embarrassed by the behavior of her group partner, who constantly interrupts her and inserts his “5 cents”. By the way, the singer began her career at the age of 16. During this period of time, she joined the post-punk band Sufflé & Suppositories.

In 2019, the Ukrainian duo presented their debut video to the delight of fans. The guys recorded a video for the musical work "Waves". The band members said that this song is about love, pleasure and the end of the world.
The video was directed by Evgeny Kuponosov, who already had experience working with popular Ukrainian artists. The video was filmed in the picturesque park "Alexandria" (Bila Tserkva, Ukraine).
Soon the band's discography grew by one more track. It's about the song "I'll be good." At the same time, the premiere of a video clip for a new song took place. The video was directed by Sergey Voronov. The video plays on the theme of modern relationships and the obsession with wanting to please everyone.
“I so want to please, I will be good, honestly, just love me. You, he, she, whatever. Do you like me, do you love me? I am beautifull? I need an answer, my light, a mirror, but I won't get it. You don't watch my stories. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” the band said in a press release.
On November 21, 2019, the premiere of the video "Clouds" took place. A close friend of Oksana, Asya Shulgina, worked on the video. She proved herself as a talented artist and designer. Asya already has a clip for LSP and the British artist M!R!M in her arsenal.
Shulgina and the singer of the Rayok group independently tested the secret of good art, namely: if art reflects real life and its facets, such art will become real in all respects.
2020 has not been left without new products. This year, the presentation of the song "Sasha Dolgopolov" took place. The presentation of the track took place on the birthday of the popular stand-up comedian. The resulting ode tells the story of the artists' acquaintance with the work of the comedian. Then it became known that Pasha and Oksana were working on their debut LP.
Group "Rayok": our days
In mid-2021, the band's discography was finally opened by the debut LP. The album was called "Sea of Fire". Experts have already noted that the record is filled with "a clip of sticky tracks about vampires at a rave and the search for love against the backdrop of the apocalypse."
On April 22, 2021, the video clip for the track "All Your Friends" premiered. The team members noted that this is not just a video clip, but a short film. The musicians said the following about this work: "dance, femininity, loneliness, anxiety, fears, overcoming, freedom."
The song touches on a number of social problems of our time. Including loneliness, abusive relationships and dependence of people on each other. The main roles went to Anastasia Pustovit and Anatoly Sachivko, head of the Apache Crew dancers association.
