Childhood of Şebnem Ferah
The singer was born on April 12, 1972. From birth, the girl lived in the city of Yalova. She was the youngest of 3 daughters in the family. All the childhood of the future singer passed in her hometown.
The girl inherited her love for music from her parent. He worked as a music teacher. From early childhood, Şebnem studied piano and solfeggio. At school, she was in the orchestra and choir. The girl took part in various activities with pleasure. After graduating from elementary school, Şebnem Ferah went to study in the city of Bursa.

When she entered high school, Shebnem Ferrah acquired a guitar first thing. At this time, she was already seriously interested in music, became interested in rock. She enjoyed learning a new instrument. She made her first attempts not only to play, but also to sing in a new genre.
Continuing her studies at school, the girl teamed up with like-minded people, together they rented a studio for rehearsals. The guys organized the Pegasus team. The band's first performance took place in 1987. The group went public at the rock festival in Bursa. The team didn't last long.
After the collapse of Pegasus, Shebnam Ferrah became the initiator of the creation of the Volvox group. The line-up included only girls, which was a novelty for the Turkish scene. It was the first female rock band. It was also a feature that Volvox sang in English.
An opportunity to express yourself
After graduating from a basic educational institution, Shebnem Ferrah entered higher education at the Faculty of Economics. She and her sister moved to Ankara to study. In her student years, the girl met Özlem Tekin. The girls became friends, Özlem became a member of the Volvox group. Soon Şebnem Ferah realized that economics was not her calling. She dropped out of school, went to Istanbul. Here she entered the university at the Faculty of English Language and Literature.
The Volvox group did not stop its activities, but the girls did not manage to get together so often. They occasionally gave concerts in clubs and bars. In 1994, Özlem Tekin left the band and started her solo career. On this the group broke up. Even before this event, the team managed to offer one of their recordings on television. As a result, Şebnem Ferah was noticed by famous performers: Sezen Aksu, Onno Tunç. Immediately, Sezen Aksu invited the young singer to her place for backing vocals.
The beginning of the solo career of Shebnem Ferrah
On the sidelines of Sezen Aksu, the aspiring artist did not stay long. Şebnem Ferah intended to try herself in a solo project. Sezen Aksu did not resist this, on the contrary, supported the young talent. Already in 1994, Shebnem Ferrah began preparations for the release of her debut solo album. It took 2 years.
The first record of the artist "Kadın" was promoted by the company Iskender Paydas, musicians from Pentagram. The album sold 500 thousand copies. The performer gave her first solo concert in April 1997 in Izmir. This was the start of success.
Ariel in Turkish
It was decided to use the voice of Şebnem Ferah for dubbing the Turkish version of the Disney cartoon "The Little Mermaid". It was her timbre that was strong and velvety at the same time associated with the mischievous Ariel. The singer in 1998 performed the soundtrack to this work. She also became the voice for the main character of the animated film.
Joy and sorrow of the second album Şebnem Ferah
In the middle of summer 1999, Şebnem Ferah released her second solo album. The appearance of the record “Artık Kısa Cümleler Kuruyorum” brought joy and sadness at the same time. It was decided not to postpone the release of the long-awaited album. But in the life of the singer there were several sad events.
In 1998, the artist's older sister died, and her father also died during an earthquake. Şebnem Ferah dedicated a song to each of the lost loved ones, for which she later shot videos.
Recording another album
The singer recorded the next album in 2 years. The power of rock was felt on this disc, which you will not find with other performers in Turkey. In support of the album "Perdeler", the artist released 2 singles. Rock bands from Finland Apocalyptica and Sigara participated in the recording of the songs.

In April 2003, Şebnem Ferah recorded her next studio album, Kelimeler Yetse. In his support, the singer released 3 singles, which were actively played on all popular channels in Turkey. To maintain popularity, the artist decided to organize a big concert tour around the country.
In the summer of 2005, Şebnem Ferah released another studio album, Can Kırıkları. She did not cheat on her team, with whom she worked throughout the years of her career.
