The Safe group has always been distinguished by its secrecy and mystery, which the team has to this day. Perhaps it is this style that gives the group a special charm, thanks to which the team has been very popular for over 30 years.
The origin of the "Safe" group
Despite a quality musical product, the band was very underestimated early in their career. In the band's repertoire, unlike other groups, there were special poetic texts that were combined with something similar to rock and jazz. The group has never divided creativity into specific styles, it has always tried to create something special.
The group began its existence in the late 1980s of the last century in the city of Palekh. The initial composition of the group included students of the art school of the city. The guys were originally creative personalities, were fond of cinema, music and paintings. The creation of the group was influenced by the arrival of the famous director Andrei Tarkovsky, whom the musicians looked up to.
In 1989, the young group became a member of the Ivanovo Musicians Association. In it, the team quickly became one of the main participants. During the concerts on behalf of the association, the Safe group became the most recognizable.
The history of the "Safe" group
After graduating from educational institutions, the guys decided not to be dependent on musical creativity. This allowed the guys to continue to engage in creativity to this day, without losing their imagination and enthusiasm, thanks to which they were popular in their youth.
The musicians had a tradition - they met once a year to record a new album at their own recording studio Safe Records and play several concerts. And the rest of the time the guys were realized in the main professions. According to the musicians, financial independence from music allowed them to preserve their creative independence.
Over time, the musical group "Safe" grew into a creative association, which began to hurt the cinema. The first result of the rebirth was the feature film The Fall (1999). The film was released on DVD only 10 years later.
Despite the fact that the band was not young, the musicians always created an album from unique styles. Previously, the band members said that, listening to their music, you need to slowly dive from the "outskirts" of creativity to the very depths.
Group Changes
Starting in the 2000s, the line-up of the group began to change. Many guys decided to leave the project and try their hand at other projects. But they were quickly replaced by younger members. Once the daughter of one of the former members of the group, Maria Larionova, daughter of Mikhail Larion, joined the group.
In 2005, the group took part in the festival "To Break!", where they won. For the public, the festival ended with an interesting event - at the peak of musical performances, one of the representatives of law enforcement lost consciousness, having received a head injury from a fall. The guitarist of the group Sergey Karavaev (working at that time as a resuscitator) helped in the situation, who provided first aid to the OMON fighter.
At this time, the team created several controversial records called "The Hour of the Sacrament" and "Peripheral Vision". The publication of the latest album was accompanied by a photo exhibition and performance. The theme of the songs in the collection "Peripheral Vision" is the stories of real people. And the sound is filled with noises - the sound of a noisy printer, the sound of cutlery. Melodic critic Stary Pioner wrote an unexpected review for the album in the form of a rap speech.
The realistic story of the initial duty of a real district police officer with the surname Klochkov “The first duty of the district police officer Klochkov” became a hit. In fact, it was an independent album consisting of nine songs dedicated to a single character.
New albums
In early November 2006, the Safe group participated in the Rock Territory independent music festival. Other teams took part in it, including the Civil Defense group and several less popular teams.
And in 2007, the Safe group wrote a solemn disc dedicated to the anniversary of the creation of the Minory Vesny group.
In early spring 2009, the Safe group presented a new album, Long and Hot. The theme of the collection is love and passion. In the songs of the group there are text quotes from various authors who wrote very beautifully about relationships. The number of selected authors is wide and varied - from Vertinsky to the St. Petersburg group "Polyusa", which performed as a guest at the presentation concert.
In early August, the Safe group organized a two-day transnational arts festival in Palekh, In Search of the Lost Paradise. Apple Spas. Then, during the year, the band's concerts were held in the format of film and music evenings.
Group "Safe" now
In 2011, the group "Safe" recorded a joint single "Time to follow the sky" with the poet and musician Misha Karasev (songwriter of the Odd Warrior project of the BI-2 group). In December 2011, the album "Name of the Muse" was released, which included nine songs.
Throughout 2012, the Safe group participated in many festivals. On November 24, 2012, the band celebrated its 25th anniversary with a big solo concert and the presentation of the album-book "Whirlpool of Fog". The book contains the impressions of the team leader Nikolai Kovalev - from a quarter-century journey to sounds and images.
First, in December 2013, social networks became aware of the work on a new album. It was then finished in early June, but the material was lost due to a broken hard drive. Three years later, the Safe team presented a new album.
The following years, the group worked on the creation of new albums, while simultaneously working on the implementation of their projects. For example, in 2019, a series with musical inserts from Stepan Korshunov "Vocal-Criminal Ensemble" was released. It was very popular and was broadcast on the NTV channel.
