Annie Chancel - the real name of the singer, she began her career in 1962. It was during this period that the famous French manager Claude Carrer noticed her. He saw good potential in the performer. But Sheila could not sign the contract because of her age. At that time she was only 17 years old. The agreement was signed by her parents, confident in the success of their daughter. 

As a result, Annie and Claude collaborated for 20 years, but at the end there was an unpleasant incident. Chancel had to sue her former employer. As a result of investigations and litigation, she was able to sue her entire fee, which she was not paid during the period of cooperation between the singer and producer.

Chancel released her first single Avec Toi in 1962. After several months of fruitful work, the song L'Ecole Est Finie was released. She was able to gain immense popularity. This track has sold over 1 million copies. In 1970, the singer had five albums filled with amazing tracks that fans of the performer's work fell in love with. 

Until 1980, the singer did not perform on tour for health reasons. Since at the beginning of her first tour, the performer fainted right on stage. Because of this, Sheila decided to save her health. After the 1980s, the singer began to tour a little.

Starting in the 1960s and ending in the 1980s, Sheila recorded a significant number of hits, which were known by memory to "fans" throughout Europe. Her songs have repeatedly hit all sorts of tops and charts.

Personal life of the singer

Annie Chancel married Ringo in 1973, with whom she subsequently performed duet compositions. Around the same time, the song Les Gondoles à Venise was written. This composition was able to gain recognition from listeners throughout France.

On April 7, 1975, the newlyweds had a son named Ludovic, who, unfortunately, did not live to this day and died in 2016. In 1979, the couple decided to break the marriage contract, and from that moment on, Annie Chancel was left alone.

Sheila: Return to the stage

In 1998, the artist successfully performed in her country at the Olympia Concert Hall. After the resounding success of her performances, Sheila decided to go on tour throughout France with her hits. At the beginning of the XNUMXth century, Annie Chancel released a new single, Love Will Keep Us Together, which was sold in significant numbers.

In 2005, after lengthy negotiations, a contract was signed with Warner Music France. This meant that all hits from her albums, singles could be distributed on discs under the label. Although the singer's career developed very slowly, her popularity did not decrease. The singer performed with several more concerts in 2006, 2009 and 2010.

In 2012, the singer's career turned 50 years old. She decided to celebrate her anniversary by giving a concert at the Paris Olimpia music hall. In the same year, Sheila's new album was released, which included 10 interesting compositions. This collection of songs was called Solide.
