The history of the creation and composition of the Simple Plan group

At the origins of the legendary team are two school friends - Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Como. Officially, the team appeared in 1999 on the territory of Montreal.

Initially, the guys played in the same team, and then their paths diverged - each decided to build his own solo project. A little later, a "black cat" ran between Chuck and Pierre. Having met again, the young people decided to forget old grievances and create a team that plays powerful alternative rock.

The composition of the new project included several more musicians. They were: Jeff Stinko and Sebastien Lefebvre. The name of the group has no less interesting history than its creation. The musicians decided to take the name of the popular movie "A Simple Plan" (1998).

The creative pseudonym turned out to be symbolic. Young and daring musicians wanted to show fans that they are not the type to spend their lives on office work. And music is a simple plan to achieve a dream and gain freedom.

Until the early 2000s, the musicians performed as a quartet. A little more time passed, and another member joined the team - bass guitarist David Derosier. This allowed Bouvier (previously played bass guitar and performed as a vocalist) to focus specifically on singing.

In this composition, the Simple Plan group went to conquer the top of the musical Olympus. The history of the group began in 1999 and continues to this day.

Music by Simple Plan

The first performance in the new lineup took place already in 2001. The new band was produced by Andy Karp, with whom the musicians signed a contract.

A year later, the guys started preparing material for a new debut album. However, not a single recording studio wanted to take the young project under its wing, but the musicians did not give up and knocked on the doors of various labels. Soon fortune smiled upon them. The musicians signed a contract with Coalition Entertainment. Soon the guys started recording their debut album No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls.

The first album can rightly be called worthy. It was not only the original performance of the tracks that made him worthy, but also joint tracks with alternative rock stars - Mark Hoppus from the Blink-182 group, Joel Madden from the Good Charlotte group, and others.

Initially, the musicians did not become popular thanks to the collection. It cannot be said that music lovers began to buy up the album from the shelves of music stores. But after releasing several singles and recording video clips, the musicians began to enjoy popularity.

The tracks of the debut collection were designed for young people. The musicians turned to problems that are close and understandable to most teenagers. The lyrical basis of the tracks was complemented by a powerful driving sound. Thanks to this mix, the team still found success.

By the end of 2002, the musicians presented their debut collection in Japan. A year later, the guys performed as the opening act for Avril Lavigne, Green Day and Good Charlotte.

The release of the second album of the band Simple Plan

In 2004, the discography of the rock band was replenished with the second studio album Still Not Getting Any. This time the band members decided to change the musical concept. The musicians went beyond pop-punk.

The collection was filled with tracks from the genre of power pop, emo pop, alternative rock and other musical styles. Fans warmly received the change in the sound of the tracks. The record was warmly received not only by the "fans", but also by music critics.

The album was released in multi-million copies, despite the fact that the tracks were not played on radio and television. According to music critics, the second studio album was stronger than the debut collection.

Such success pushed the musicians to develop further. In 2008, the band's discography was replenished with the eponymous album Simple Plan. This time the musicians decided to make the tracks heavier - they touched upon serious social problems in the lyrics of the compositions.

In general, the album received positive reviews, but the musicians were not very satisfied with the new collection. They felt that fans would like a lighter sound. The guys promised that with the next disc they would fix this situation.

Soon the presentation of the new album Get Your Heart On! The disc in its spirit was close to the band's debut album.
