The childhood and youth of the rapper Slimus

Slimus is the creative pseudonym of the Russian rapper. His real name is Vadim Motylev. The boy was born in Moscow in 1981. Vadim never shared information about his family. He carefully protected his parents and other family members from prying eyes.

Vadim not only listened to rap, but also tried to create it himself. It is known that he recorded the first musical composition at the age of 16. The young man presented it to a narrow circle of acquaintances. Motylev began to make attempts to enter the big stage in 1996.

In addition to music, Motylev showed interest in sports during his school years. By the way, physical education is the only subject that Vadim loved at school, apart from literature and music.

He wasn't good-looking, but he had a penchant for the liberal arts. Later, he began to apply his abilities in rap, creating "edgy" lyrics to his songs.

The beginning of a musical career

After graduating from school, Vadim had to decide what he would do next in life. He chose the music that he literally breathed. In order to declare himself, Motylev needed an ally. They became an aspiring rapper with a creative pseudonym Lexus.

In 1996, the musicians released their debut album Stone Jungle. Lexus and Motylev wrote texts and music on their own. The guys recorded the tracks at the illegal recording studio "The Meaning of Life".

Despite the fact that the tracks of the "Stone Jungle" album were "raw", this did not prevent the disc from getting into the collection of Russian hip-hop music "Prosto Rap" (label Rap Recordz). At this time, the name of the group appeared. Vadim and Lexus became known as "Smoke Screen".

It was hard for young rappers. Due to fierce competition, the soloists joined the Dumuchye hip-hop formation. In 1997, the formation released an album with the participation of Vadim, which was called "183 years".

In parallel with the work in the alliance, Vadim and Lexus were working on an album for their own group. In 2000, they presented the second disc "Without Contraception". The creative break of the musicians was associated with drug addiction.

Collaboration between artists Slimus and Dolphin

The singer Dolphin also worked on this album. A professional sound engineer helped the musicians record the second disc, so the tracks acquired an unusual sound.

The unusual sound of musical compositions attracted attention to the performers, they had their first fans. Formation "Smoke Screen" began to organize the first concerts. They also interested journalists. The first interviews with rappers appeared, which only increased their popularity.

Some time later, the musicians released another album with the original title "Did you want the truth?". When creating the tracks, Lexus and Slim had no doubt that this record would become popular. And so it happened. The disc was distributed to all corners of Russia.

Smoke Screen Formation Takes a Break

Since 2004, the Smoke Screen group has taken a break. Lexus "dived headlong" into family life. He rarely appeared in the recording studio. The last album of the group was called "Floors".

Slim kept trying new things. In 2004, he became part of the Centr music project. In addition to Slim, there were two soloists in the Centr group - Ptah and Guf. In 2007, the musicians released their debut album "Swing".

In 2008, the soloists of the musical group presented their second disc, "Ether is Normal". This album went gold. A year later, Guf decided to pursue a solo career. Slim also recorded a solo album, but as part of the Centr group.

With the release of the album "Cold" Slim shot a video clip for the song of the same name. For several months, the video clip held a leading position on local TV channels. And in honor of the album, Slim organized a concert. A friend of Lexus came to the aid of a friend, with whom he performed popular compositions of the Smoke Screens group.

Slim did not refuse to work in the Smoke Screens and Centr groups. But, in addition to active participation in musical groups, he also showed himself as a solo artist. In 2011, Slim released a joint work with the Constanta group, the project was called Azimuth.

Slim's first solo album

In 2012, Slim released the independent album Saint-Tropez. For the song "Girl", the rapper shot a video clip, which in a few days hit the top YouTube video.

No less successful was the clip "Houdini", which Slim recorded with the group "Caspian Cargo».

After 2012, the artist traveled with concerts in major cities of the Russian Federation. He collected stadiums, performing for rap fans with the most popular songs of his repertoire.

In parallel with his musical career, Slim arranged his personal life. Almost nothing is known about Vadim's family. He is married to Elena Motyleva. The couple is raising children together.

2020 has been a very productive year for the rapper. This year he presented two albums at once. We are talking about a joint disc with Ves Caspian "Hive" and an album of remixes "Piano in the Bushes".

In December 2020, he presented the Novichok LP. The record came out "adult". In some tracks, the singer described Russia in 2020. He presented the nullified ruler of the state, the elite of the capital and the poor province, immersed in luxury. Guest verses include: Bianca, Gio Pika and team Estradarada.
