Singer with Latvian roots Stas Shurins enjoyed great popularity in Ukraine after a triumphant victory in the musical television project "Star Factory". It was the Ukrainian public that appreciated the undoubted talent and beautiful voice of the rising star.
Thanks to the deep and sincere lyrics that the young man wrote himself, his audience increased with each new hit. Today we can already talk not about recognition in Ukraine and Latvia, but about popularity across Europe.
Childhood and youth of Stas Shurins
The future singer was born on June 1, 1990 in the city of Riga (in the capital of Latvia). Already at preschool age, the boy sang beautifully and was distinguished by absolute pitch. When Stas was 5 years old, his parents enrolled him in a music school. The boy, despite his young age, made great strides.
He was a favorite of teachers not only at the music school. When Shurins went to the 1st grade, teachers noted that he had the ability to exact sciences and the humanities. The guy graduated from high school with a silver medal. Despite academic success, music took first place in the heart of the young singer. Therefore, after graduating from a music school, the guy continued to study with famous vocal teachers, learn to make arrangements and write poems, to which he immediately came up with melodies.
To draw the attention of producers and music critics, the guy tried not to miss a single music competition. When he was 16 years old, Stas Shurins became the winner in the musical television project "Discovering Talents" (2006).
The main prize of this competition was vocal lessons from the popular Latvian star Nicole. Also, the young man got a chance to record compositions in the ANTEX studio. In the same year, the guy became a participant in the international competition World Stars, in which he took 1st place.
Among all activities, the artist chose music. And the young talent decided to graduate from school as an external student, convincing his parents that there was nothing wrong with that. Mom and dad supported their son, and already in 2008 Stas was given to musical creativity.
Participation in the project "Star Factory"
In 2009, an aspiring singer accidentally read information on the Internet that the third musical project "Star Factory" was starting in Ukraine, and its producers announced the recruitment of participants. The young man decided to try his hand and applied for participation in the Internet selection. He was noticed and invited to Ukraine for auditions.
Everything ended successfully. And Stas easily got into the project and competed with the same talented aspiring singers. Here he presented two author's works - the songs "Heart" and "Don't Go Crazy", which immediately became hits. Thanks to the unique timbre of his voice, they began to recognize him. And the lyrics with deep meaning immediately touched the soul and remained there forever.
In addition, other participants asked Stas to become a co-author of songs for their performances. Shurins was also noticed by the main producer of the project - Konstantin Meladze. According to him, Shurins is not only a talented performer who has a unique style of singing, but also an excellent composer who writes not with his mind, but with his soul. The star does not have a higher musical education, only a music school. And then work on yourself and develop your talent.
The results of the competition were announced on New Year's Eve. The winner was Stas Shurins. Together with other participants, he went on a tour of Ukraine. A few months later, the singer's new hit came out - the song "Winter".
Glory and creativity
Stas Shurins was very popular during the Star Factory project. After his graduation, the artist began his finest hour - millions of fans of his work in the post-Soviet space, proposals from famous producers, recording new songs, filming video clips, constant photo shoots and interviews for glossy magazines.
In 2010, the STB TV channel invited Stas Shurins to take part in the Dancing with the Stars project. And, in addition to music, the singer began to actively engage in dancing. Stas showed the audience that he can transform. There were many images on the parquet - from comic to lyrical. And all the roles were received with a bang.
Enormous work, complete mutual understanding with the partner (dancer Elena Poole) and love for creativity gave the result. The couple won and took 1st place in the project. At the end of the competition, Stas sang the new song “Tell me” for the first time in front of the audience.
In 2011, the performer entered the top 25 most beautiful men in the country according to Viva magazine.
The next hit of the singer "Sorry" was released in 2012. In autumn, he presented his first solo album "Round 1", where he presented himself as an author and composer. In the same year, the first solo concert of the young musician took place.
2013 was marked by the release of the new album "Natural Selection".
Stas Shurins: Participation in the Eurovision Song Contest
In 2014, the performer took part in the National selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. He failed to win, but he entered the top 10 best performers. In the summer of the same year, Stas Shurins took part in the New Wave contest, where he took 11th place. Despite the loss, Alla Pugacheva highly appreciated his vocal abilities and gave him her nominal prize - 20 thousand €. This helped the singer move and settle in Germany to further develop his career.
2016 was a turning point in the singer's work. He was invited to take part in the international project The Voice of Germany. Stas Shurins agreed and got into the team of the world famous Samu Haber. In parallel with the project, the musician wrote new songs. One of them, You Can Be, has become a motivation for many. The singer dedicated the composition to Paralympic athletes. And he transferred all the proceeds from its download to the account of a sports school for children with hearing and vision impairments.
In 2020, Stas Shurins became the finalist of The Voice of Germany project. He began to cooperate with the largest music brand Universal Music Group. The first track on the European music market was created in collaboration with Samu Haber.
Stas Shurins: Personal life
Before entering into an official marriage, Stas Shurins was a famous heartthrob. The country closely watched his romantic relationship with Erica, a participant in the Star Factory project. After the project, the couple broke up, the guy returned to his former girlfriend Julia.
But unexpected news for everyone in 2012 was the singer's marriage to a beautiful stranger Violetta. After the wedding, which also took place without prying eyes, the star prefers not to talk about her personal life. It is only known that the couple lives in Germany. According to Shurins, his wife became a real muse for him. He often dedicates his songs to Violetta. She is also associated with music, but does not appear on stage.
In addition to musical creativity, Shurins had an interesting hobby. The couple started breeding snails. They often give shellfish to friends and chuckle at the fact that they plan to open a farm.
