The history of the creation and composition of the Stigmata group
The Stigmata team was founded in 2003 in St. Petersburg. The soloists of the group created songs in the musical style of metalcore, which combined extreme metal and hardcore punk.
Metalcore began to enjoy huge popularity in the early 1980s of the last century.
It all started with the banal desire of the musicians to create a band. A few years before the official date of the birth of the group, the musicians disappeared at rehearsals. Soloists were looking for themselves, their individual style of performance and dreamed of popularity.
During the period of creation, the team did not have a name. Later, the musicians came up with the word "stigmata", and they realized that the title fully corresponds to the content of the works.
This is where they stopped. Journalists believe that the title contains religious overtones. Stigmata are bleeding wounds on the body of Jesus Christ that arose during his crucifixion.
The first concerts of the musical group took place in the popular club of St. Petersburg "Polygon". At that time, a lot of aspiring rockers "untwisted" in the night club.
The audience enthusiastically accepted the tracks of Stigmata. The team then consisted of Denis Kichenko, Taras Umansky, drummer Nikita Ignatiev and vocalist Artyom Lotsky.
Creative way and music of the group
The team received the first portion of popularity in 2004. This year was productive for the Stigmata group, as the guys managed to sign a contract with the Kapkan Records label.
The musicians presented the album "Conveyor of Dreams" to the fans. Following the debut disc, the second album, More Than Love, was released.
In 2005, the group performed "on the warm-up" of popular Russian rock bands. This allowed them to gain recognition and increase the number of fans.
In addition, the musicians became full-fledged participants in the largest rock festival "Wings". At the rock festival, the group held a solo concert.
The recording studio Avigator Records offered the guys to sign a contract for the release of the third album.
At the same time, the discography of the Russian band was replenished with the eponymous album Stigmata. The compositions “Wings”, “God forgive me”, “Abandon hope”, “The price of your life” aroused great interest among rock fans.
A little later, the group presented the fans with a video clip for the song "September". The video has been at the top of the alternative video charts for a long time.
The musicians decided to draw attention to themselves, so they formed a public poll on the official website. Based on the results of the voting, the soloists of the group formed a concert track list.
A little later, the release of the fourth studio album "My Way" was presented. At the time of the release of the new disc, two new members joined the team.
We are talking about Artyom Teplinsky and Fedor Lokshin. Fyodor Lokshin on drums was replaced by Vladimir Zinoviev in 2011.
In 2017, the guys presented their fifth studio album Mainstream?. The official release date for the album was November 1, 2017.
In support of the fifth studio album, the Stigmata group went on a tour in which they visited 20 cities of the Russian Federation.
Interesting facts about the Stigmata group
- In one of the interviews, the leader of the group Artyom Lotskikh was asked the question: “Does it happen that the soloists of the group lose their inspiration?”. Artyom replied that this happens often, and the musicians simply cope with despondency - they leave rehearsals and go to bed.
- The soloists of the group do not like to tell "extra" information. It is known that everyone who is part of the group works additionally. But nothing is known about the positions of the guys, as well as about their personal lives.
- The first performance took place in the city of Vsevolozhsk in an agricultural technical school, at the local KVN.
- Soloists admit that at concerts their fans often ask for the same song for an encore. It's about the track "My Way".
Stigmata group now
In 2019, the musical group delighted fans with a new acoustic album "Kaleidoscope". Following the collection, the first promotional video for "History" was released.
In the summer, large concerts took place in Moscow and St. Petersburg in support of the release of the Kaleidoscope album. Artyom Nel'son Lotskikh remains the permanent soloist and leader of the team.
