Zi Faámelu is a transgender Ukrainian singer, songwriter, and composer. Previously, the artist performed under the pseudonym Boris April, Anya April, Zianja.
Childhood and youth
The childhood of Boris Kruglov (the real name of the celebrity) passed in the small village of Chernomorskoye (Crimea). Boris's parents have nothing to do with creativity.
The boy became interested in music at an early age. Attentive parents noticed their son's inclinations in time, and therefore enrolled their five-year-old child in a music school. Mom and dad wanted the son to master a more serious profession in the future, which would give him stability.
After graduation, he went to conquer the capital of Ukraine. The young man submitted documents to KNUKI, choosing a vocal department for himself. Alas, he failed to do so. There was no way out, so he agreed to go to the faculty of "management".
There was absolutely not enough money, therefore, in parallel with his studies, the young man begins to earn extra money. At first, he works as a courier, distributes leaflets, plays at the venues of the capital's nightclubs.
By the way, the parents were sure that their son was studying at the University of Simferopol at the Faculty of Economics. Boris did not want to hurt his mother, so he was forced to come up with a legend in order to save the emotional state of his parents, who were against the development of a creative profession by their son.
After he got on the reality show "Star Factory-2" - he was expelled from a higher educational institution. He often skipped classes, so the management made a unanimous decision to expel a free student. A little later, he will recover at the university, and will master the profession of an interpreter.
Zi Faámelu: Creative way
Soon, the reality show "Star Factory-2" started in the capital of Ukraine. For Boris, it was a unique chance to show his vocal talents. He prepared thoroughly for the competition. He took a creative pseudonym "Boris April" and dyed his hair blond. Against the background of the rest of the participants, the artist looked incredibly impressive.
For the sake of Boris April, the organizers of the show even broke the rules. At the time of participation in the project, he was only 17 years old. Initially, the organizers allowed only adult participants in the reality show. The producer of the project at that time was the Ukrainian singer N. Mogilevskaya.
In an interview, Boris told how difficult it was for him to get along with the rest of the participants in the reality show. He was a black sheep, so the project participants were always looking for an opportunity to annoy him.
April commented that he had suffered from bullying since school, so he had no doubt that he would face the same moral pressure on the project.
The artist on the project took third place. After the end of the show, the singer, along with the rest of the "manufacturers" went on tour. This was followed by a series of interviews and publications in prestigious publications. He often became a guest of rating Ukrainian programs and shows.
Composer activity of Zi Faámelu
He showed himself not only as a talented singer, but also as a composer. For Mogilevskaya - he composed a piece of music "I am healed." A clip was released for the track, directed by A. Badoev.
Soon Boris Aprel found out that the Russian singer and leader of the Hands Up! - Sergey Zhukov. For the Ukrainian artist, this news was a big surprise, but he chose to refuse such an offer.
In 2010, the show “Star Factory. Superfinal. The artist agreed to take part in the filming of a reality show. Judges and spectators warmly welcomed the singer. Many noted that in professional terms - April has grown significantly. The singer himself is at the “Star Factory. Superfinal”, commented reluctantly. As it turned out, he again became the center of insults and moral humiliation.
He starred in several reality shows, after which he dropped out of the project. The artist was glad to leave, because his nervous system was on the verge. Fans and spectators who decided to support their idol staged a real riot. They demanded that the artist be returned to the reality project. The organizers of the show tried to contact the star, but his phone was “silent”. Attempts to find April at home were also unsuccessful. It turned out that he ended up in a clinic with nervous exhaustion.
In the spring of the same 2010, he took part in a reality show gala concert. April radically changed the image - he dyed his hair black and noticeably removed the length. On stage, he performed the musical work "Incognito". In the same year, the premiere of the singer's debut LP, which was called "Incognito", took place.
April commented that the release of the album marked the beginning of a new life for the artist. A couple of years later he visited China. On the territory of this country, he held several concerts.

The artist was inspired by the performance in China so much that he decided to return to the country and lived there for about a year. In 2013, he went to the territory of the United States of America.
Throughout his life, he was distinguished by an androgynous appearance. In 2014, right on his birthday, he came out. April openly declared that he is a transgender. He asked to be called April. He changed sex and had breast surgery. Then it became known that his heart was occupied.
Then April said that she had long felt out of her own skin. In the body of a man, she was not comfortable. She took this step consciously. Now the star feels as comfortable as possible.
Zi Faamelu: our days
The artist returned to the music arena in a new way. In 2017, the singer took part in the blind auditions of the Voice of Ukraine. Then it became known that April performed under a new creative pseudonym - "Zianja".
At the auditions, the singer presented the musical work Beyonce - Smashed into you. The performance of the artist impressed the judges. In the end, she gave the choice towards Potap. He took up the future fate of the singer in the framework of the project.
On the air of the "Voice of Ukraine" Zianja performed the musical work Mama mia. According to the results of the audience voting, the singer left the project.
In 2020, under the new creative pseudonym of the artist Zi Faámelu, the presentation of the single Fallen Angel took place. The singer is also her own producer, author of words and music.
In the same 2020, her repertoire increased by one more track. At the end of the year, the celebrity presented the work Undiscovered Animal. “I won’t let anyone hurt you, baby,” the singer announced the new track on Instagram.
