History of creation and composition of the group
It all started in 1999 in California. Then the schoolmates decided to join forces and create a musical group playing in the style of heavy metal.
Young musicians had just come of age and they really liked the classics of heavy music - these are the bands Black Sabbath, Guns N'Roses and Iron Maiden.
The original group consisted of: Matthew Charles Sanders (M. Shadows), Zaki Venjens, The Rey and Matt Wendt.
In this composition, the musicians came to the "musical arena" and began to look for their place under the sun. The team made music in the coastal town of Huntington Beach. The musicians began their career with a collection of demos. The album contains only three tracks.
Guitarist Sinister Gates joined the band in 2001. The musicians recorded their debut album without Gates. A little later, the young man took part in a complete re-recording, where he performed the solo guitar parts.
The name of The Rev is not associated with the most pleasant stage in the life of the band. The fact is that in 2009 the brilliant musician of the Avenged Sevenfold group died.
The body of a celebrity was found in his own house with traces of alcohol and a set of medications in his blood. "Explosive mixture" was the cause of the musician's death.
Music by Avenged Sevenfold
A few years after the creation of the Avenged Sevenfold group, the musicians presented their first full-length album, which was called Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.
The compositions included in the first disc are metalcore. Music critics and fans of heavy music warmly received the collection.
The group published the second collection in the so-called "golden composition" with Sinister Gates and Johnny Christ who came.
The album was called Waking the Fallen, which opened the way for musicians to popularity and recognition. The compilation hit the independent album charts in the United States of America. The band was first noticed by Billboard.
The musicians were productive. Already in 2005, they replenished their discography with the collection City of Evil. The album debuted at number 30 on Billboard. The musicians left the no-name zone.
The third studio album is characterized by a complex and professional sound. In addition, the tracks are distinguished by a voice variety - clean vocals were added to the growl and scream. The undisputed hits of the album were the songs Blinded in Chains, Bat Country and The Wicked End.
By the time of the recording of the Nightmare compilation, Avenged Sevenfold was ranked second in Ultimate-Guitar's selection of the best bands of the decade.
The musicians lost 1st place to the legendary band Metallica. Work on the new album was put on hold due to the death of The Rev.
The musicians dedicated the new album to the memory of their colleague and friend. The collection was riddled with longing and pain. The album was warmly received by music critics, not to mention the fans.
The hits of the record were the tracks: Welcome to the Family, So Far Away and Natural Born Killer.
Only three years later, the musicians released a new album, Hail to the King. The album featured the track This Means War for the first time.

In the new collection, the musicians touched on the topic of self-destruction of society. Interestingly, the track Exist, which was included in the album, lasts 15 minutes.
Avenged Sevenfold today
The team creates and lives in Huntington Beach. Since gaining popularity, the musicians have not changed their place of residence. In 2018, Avenged Sevenfold canceled a major headlining tour.
The tour was canceled for a good reason. The fact is that as a result of an infection of the ligament, Shadows received damage. The vocalist came to his senses for a long time and could not sing. In order to somehow console the fans, the musicians told that they are preparing a new album for the release.
In 2019, Avenged Sevenfold's discography was replenished with the Playlist: Rock compilation. The collection includes old hits of musicians. Fans greeted the record with joy.
On February 7, 2020, the band also released Diamonds in the Rough. The original release included tracks recorded during the compilation Avenged Sevenfold (2007).
