How did the Fun Factory team come about?

Every story has a beginning. The band was born out of the desire of four people to make music. Its year of creation was 1992, when musicians joined the line-up: Balca, Steve, Rod D. and Smooth T. Already in the year of the band's creation, they managed to record the first single Fun Factory's Theme.

On an ordinary single, the guys' story could not end, so they started writing a new track. Then we decided to record a video for him. That track was Groove Me, which was released in 1993.

The release of the clip made some adjustments. In the video, the band's lead singer, Balca, was replaced in the video by model Marie-Anett Mey. However, this did not change the situation in the team, since Balca continued to be the vocalist of the group. Moreover, the vocals of this girl accompanied the work of Fun Factory until 1998.

First and second albums

Single after single, clip after clip, the band gradually gained immense popularity, gaining fans not only in Germany, but all over the world.

So the band released the album Non Stop!, which they worked on for two years. Some time later, this album was re-released under the new name Close to You.

The album contains many hits from Fun Factory. Among these songs were: Take Your Chance, Close to You, etc.

Usually, after the first album, the musicians immediately thought about the second. And a year and a half later, the group released Fun-Tastic. The album only increased its popularity. Now they have become famous in Canada, America, having taken a leading position in the radio charts there.

First departure from Fun Factory

Four years after the creation of the team, one of the participants, Smooth T, left it. He wanted to work on other projects. Having been a quartet, the group continued to work in a trio format.

Already in 1996, in this composition, the musicians released the album All Their Best, which contains the best remixes of this group.

The disbandment of the Fun Factory group and the emergence of a new group

The group felt the lack of one member. Still, the departure of Smooth T. influenced the musicians. The remaining members decided to disband the group. Two of the members (Balca, Steve) went to a completely different Fun Affairs project. However, this musical band did not become successful.

Ex-musicians from the group Fun Factory could not come to terms with the breakup and thought about the possibilities of reuniting. In 1998, they managed to create a team called New Fun Factory.

Members who did not exist before joined the team. At the same time, a completely new group released their first single Party With Fun Factory. It was sold in the amount of 100 thousand copies.

Naturally, the style of this group was different. In the music of this group, one could hear notes of rap, reggae, even pop music.

Until 2003, the group actively existed, released hits, and also sold two records (Next Generation, ABC of music), like the previous one. However, in the same year it ceased to exist.

Four years later, recruitment and castings were announced for the New Fun Factory band. A year later, they managed to assemble a new team. The team included rap artist Douglas, singer Jasmine, vocalist Joel and choreographer-dancer Lea.

In this line-up, the guys released the song Be Good to Me, and then they planned to release the record Storm in My Brain a year later.

Official reunion

The members of the group changed. In 2009, the single Shut Up was released, with Balca providing vocals. Four years later, the group reunited again, because the first three members returned to the lineup. They were Balca, Tony and Steve.

Ricardo Heiling announced the band's reunion on the official website. Already in 2015, the musicians released new songs from the group: Let's Get Crunk, Turn It Up. And then came the next studio compilation, Back to the Factory.
