58 years ago (21.06.1962/XNUMX/XNUMX), in the town of Belleville, Ontario (Canada), the future rock diva, queen of metal - Lee Aaron was born. True, then her name was Karen Greening.
Childhood Lee Aaron
Until the age of 15, Karen did not differ from the local children: she grew up, studied, played children's games. And she was fond of music: she sang well and played the saxophone and keyboards. In 1977, a 15-year-old girl is part of the school ensemble. His naming in the future will become her creative pseudonym and thunder throughout the world.
The beginning of the creative path of Lee Aaron
As the members of the ensemble grew older, interest in what they were doing began to fade and the group broke up. Lee Aaron tried to start a solo career, but something initially did not work out. But agencies advertising extravagant clothes drew attention to her model appearance. After that, Karen appears on the covers of fashion magazines.
Modeling career progressed quite successfully. Lee moves to Los Angeles. The "City of Angels" has long secured the title of the capital of fashion and has always welcomed talented creative people.
Having saved up money, Karen decided to return to the world of music, to start a new career as a rock singer. With the help of compatriots, Canadian musicians from the bands Moxy, Santers, Reskless and Wrabit, she recorded her first, debut album, The Lee Aaron Project, at the Freedom Recording Studio.
Road to success Lee Aaron
The collection was heard and appreciated not only by hard rock fans, but also by critics. Lee's original vocals did not leave indifferent the representatives of the major record company Roadrunne. They offer the singer a contract, and she signs it. In 1982, the debut album was re-released, the title of which was shortened to two words: "Lee Aaron". It is distributed throughout the US and Europe. At the same time, the core of Lee's musical group was formed.
Guitarist Dave Epleyer, Gene Stout (bass) and Bill Wade (drums) are the musicians who make up the original line-up. A year later they were replaced by guitarists George Bernhardt and John Albeni, Jack Meli (bass player) and Attila Damien, who plays the drum kit. True, the drummer did not stay long in the team and he was replaced by Frank Russell. The line-up accompanying Lee Aaron varies from time to time, only the author of the compositions, guitarist Albeni, remains constant.
International renown
International fame comes to Lee in 1983. It happened after a performance at a rock festival in Reading and with the release of the album "Metal Queen". It was the bomb that blew up the world of Hard'n'Heavy. The title of the first lady of metal, the queen of style, is firmly assigned to a fragile, beautiful girl. The album is released at once by two major record labels: Roadrunne and Attic. In England, the EP "Metal Queen" is released, the debut album is reissued for the third time.
Aaron's "hot" days begin. She tours a lot with the team, achieving fame and popularizing her work. Marquee Hall, another fest in Reading, a metal scene in Holland.
In 1985, the third album of the singer "Call Of The Wild" was released, which was a resounding success among metal fans. The song "Rock Me All Over" becomes especially popular. Aaron embarks on a major tour with rock mastodons such as "Bon Jovi", "Crocus" and "Yuraya Hip".
After a long world tour in Europe, the USA, Japan, becoming the "Best Female Vocalist" three times, the singer starts recording the 4th album. Unfortunately, the circulation is sold sluggishly and does not bring additional dividends to either the producer, or the recording studio, or the singer herself. In pursuit of market conditions and not guessing the mood of the fans, the album came out too soft and feminine. He could not be successful a priori.
Queen of Metal: Rehab
Failures forced Aaron to rethink the approaches to his creative work. For a short time she departs from her solo career, collaborates with a German group Scorpions, recording solo parts for their next album Savage Amusement.
This allows her to put things in order in her thoughts and rehabilitate herself in front of her fans. She returns to her style - tough and dynamic. Participation in the Reading Fest shows the world that Lee is still the same fragile but strong Queen of Metal.
wave law
They say that there is a wave law for everyone, and musicians too. You can’t stay on the ridge for a long time, someday you will be blown away from there. So Lee Aaron did not bypass this rule: breaking the contract with the Attic Records recording studio, the 1994 compilation Emotional Rain, the 2preciious project does not bring success to the singer. And she decides to change rock, change the style of performance, move a little away from what she has been doing all this time.
