Lucy is a singer who works in the indie pop genre. Note that Lucy is an independent project of the Kyiv musician and singer Kristina Varlamova. In 2020, the Rumor publication included the talented Lucy in the list of interesting young performers.

There is practically no information about the childhood years of Christina Varlamova (real name of the artist) on the Internet. The singer's social networks are filled with working moments.
Some sources indicate that Christina was born and lives in Kyiv (Ukraine). From childhood, she gravitated towards music, singing and playing musical instruments. Later, photography was added to the piggy bank of hobbies.
The girl was fond of folklore, and most likely, the “explosive mixture” smoothly led her to the fact that she decided to “make” tracks in the indie pop genre. We will talk about this further.
In an interview, Christina said that from early childhood she loved to sing. In almost all the photographs, the girl stood with a microphone in her hands. As a child, she loved the tracks of Viktor Pavlik and Yurko Yurchenko, but today she does not remember a single composition from the artists' repertoire.
Grandmother, who doted on the girl, took her to a music school. Christina entered the class of folk singing. According to Varlamova, it was there that she learned to sing using the diaphragm.
“The folklore songs that I often sang at the music school turned into a great love for everything Ukrainian. In winter, I collected a lot of money by singing carols cool. I also learned to recognize archetypal symbols in texts that I now actively use in my musical project,” says Christina.
The creative path of the singer Lucy
The main trigger that led to the creation of the Lucy project was the fact that the period “back to the 90s” began in mass in culture. The modern viewer, who previously wanted to see perfectly “licked” clips and tracks, missed something “tube”.
Kristina was inspired to create a musical project by the work of the tragically deceased Kuzma Scriabin, Irina Bilyk, teams "Territory A", "Factor-2and Aqua Vita. According to Varlamova, the appearance of these artists on stage “launched” the flowering of Ukrainian culture.
Since the launch of the independent project, Lucy has faced a difficult task - to find an intelligent beatmaker. In 2015, Christina found tracks on the Internet by a certain Daniil Senichkin. Then Varlamova moonlighted as a person who shoots videos for clients. She actively used Daniel's songs during the editing of videos.
Work in Odessa
She contacted Senichkin and offered to promote her project. He agreed. By the way, Daniel came up with such an atypical and rustic creative pseudonym for Christina - Lucy. He did not work on a free basis, so the artist had to quickly “activate” in order to recoup the money spent.
The problem was also that Danya lived in Odessa. In 2016, Kristina went to a sunny Ukrainian town. The guys worked tirelessly, and in the end they were satisfied with the “fruit” of their efforts. Lucy records the tracks “Dosit”, “Mary Magdalene”, “Noah”. Note that the presentation of the first two tracks took place in 2017, and the last one in 2018.
The premiere of bright video clips for the presented tracks took place. The fact that Christina filmed the first videos on her own deserves special attention. In video clips, she is a director, cameraman, stylist, editing director.
“I never resorted to the help of production. But, there were proposals. I have some experience in this matter, and I put it into practice. All my youth I ran with a camera, taking photos of bright (and not so) moments. It’s easy for me to take something off, and most importantly, I’m not ashamed to show people. I catch frantic pleasure when I shoot clips specifically for my work.
In 2018, the premiere of musical works "Noah" and "Zabutya" took place. It seemed to fans that the release of the debut LP was on the “nose”. But, the singer disappears from the view of "fans" for a long time.
Lucy's debut album premiere
A year later, she returns to present the track "Little", and also to please with information that the premiere of a full-length album will soon take place. The album was released in March 2020. The collection was called Enigma.
For most music lovers, the name of the disc evoked associations with a popular German band that successfully mixed church songs with electronic music. The title track is a XNUMX% reference to him. There are unrealistically many religious allusions, stories about Mary Magdalene, heaven and hell in the tracks of the debut collection.
“Christianity is just one of the religions. I am not a religious person, but I am a believer. Some religious themes are close to me: God, heaven, hell. Therefore, I accept this knowledge. But, this is not a cult for me, ”the artist comments.
It deserves special attention that not the last people of the Ukrainian electronic scene became sound producers of the disc: Koloah, Bejenec (Daniil Senichkin) and Pahatam.
Lucy didn't stop there. In 2020, the premiere of the singles "Rizni" and "Nich" took place. The works were warmly received not only by fans, but also by music critics.

Until recently, she was reluctant to share the details of her personal life. But, on July 7, 2021, it turned out that Christina got married. Her chosen one was a man named Dmitry.
