The guys immediately stood out with their unusual style. Their music has united such directions as: heavy metal, blues, punk, pop, jazz, reggae, soul. Some critics call their style "urban blues".

The composition of the band and the history of their acquaintance

One of the members, Marlon Roudette, was born in London. But soon he moved with his family to the island of St. Vincent, washed by the Caribbean Sea.

There was a pleasant peaceful atmosphere, which contributed to the development of the guy's musical abilities. He composed poetry and rap lyrics, and also played the saxophone.

An ethnic Hindu, Pritesh Khirji is also a native of London. His early years were not as rosy as Marlon's.

Many doors were closed for the migrant family, and peers looked askance at Pritesh. But this did not stop him from actively pursuing music. He was interested in electronic and oriental music, as well as alternative rock.

Thanks to such diverse passions, Priteshi and Marlon united in the Mattafix team. Their repertoire combined a wide variety of directions - from club music to oriental Bollywood tunes.

Such dissimilarity and diversity has become a kind of "trick" of the team, which attracted the attention of the general public to them.

The acquaintance of future bandmates took place in the recording studio in which Hirji worked at that time. After talking a little, they decided to pursue a joint musical career.

This is how the Mattafix group was born. However, things did not go very smoothly. They were able to present the first single to the audience only a few years later. The song was interesting and very quickly found its first fans.

Music Mattafix

The first single received the unpretentious name "11.30". Although he found his listeners, he did not glorify the team. Fortune smiled at them only six months later, after the release of the composition Big City Life, which literally "blew up" the European charts.

The next song Passer By was released in the autumn of the same year. She did not become as popular, but increased public interest in the band before the release of the debut album Signs of a Struggle.

The best compositions of the album were: Gangster's Blues and Living Darfur. They say that even such people as Mark Knopfler Mick Jagger listened to these compositions.

The duo's first large-scale concert was a performance in front of 175 people in Milan, "opening up" for Sting. The audience greeted them very positively and were satisfied with the performance.

The team is not afraid to express in their songs thoughts on social topics that concern everyone. Therefore, their songs easily find reviews in the hearts of fans.

The next album, Signs of a Struggle, demonstrated the growth of the band's professional skills. Marlon and Pritesh hoped that their work is not just music, but the truth that they convey to the audience.

The artists began a very busy tour schedule, which is why they did not have time to make new studio recordings. But they have accumulated a significant amount of developments. But the musicians failed to realize them together.

The reason for the breakup of the duo

The group ceased to exist in 2011. The official reason was the idea that the musicians had different plans for the future.

Marlon Roudette decided to start a solo career and released the album Matter Fixed. Universal became the producer of this album. It retained the already familiar style, but all the songs were new.

The album included a lot of instrumental music, which favorably differed from the old songs. The song New Age was at the top of the charts. She is best known in Germany.

Pritesh Khirji meanwhile decided to dedicate himself to club music and became a DJ. In 2013, there were rumors about a possible duo reunion, but they turned out to be untrue.
