The main genre in which Mike makes music is trap. It was in it that he managed to collaborate with such key figures of American rap as GOOD Music, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar and a number of pop stars, including Rihanna, Ciara and many others.

Young years and creative family Mike Will Made It

Michael Len Williams II (real name of the musician) was born in 1989 in Georgia. Interestingly, the love of music was instilled in the boy from childhood. Despite the fact that his parents were business and social workers, in the early years both participated in musical groups.

So, in the 70s, Mike's father was a DJ and played in local clubs (apparently, Mike adopted his love for creating instrumental compositions from him). Williams' mother was a singer and even sang in the choruses of many American bands. In addition, the uncle of the young man played the guitar perfectly, and his sister played the drums. Interestingly, she even asked escort during the Olympic Games.

Leaning towards rap

The boy literally grew up on music and very quickly realized what he wanted to do. At the same time, the choice almost immediately fell in the direction of rap. The musician could play any rap beat on musical equipment. Whether it's a drum machine, guitar, piano or synthesizer. At the age of 14, he got his own drum machine. From that moment on, he starts creating his own beats. By the way, his father gave him a car, seeing how the boy gravitates towards music.

The young man very quickly began to get professional bits. At the age of 16, his main leisure was creating music at local studios. The guy was allowed to access local equipment, allowing him to create songs and even offer them to artists who came to the studio to record.

Michael began to sell his beats to rappers, however, they sold out slowly. Everyone was skeptical about the young man, preferring more famous beatmakers. Nevertheless, over time, he managed to convince the musicians that he deserves to sound on their albums.

Mike Will Made It's first celebrity collaborations

The first famous rapper who agreed to buy music from Mike was Gucci Mane. The beat of the beginning composer accidentally fell into the hands of the rap musician, after which he invited the young man to work at a studio in Atlanta. In parallel, he studied at one of the universities.

The young man himself did not want to do this, but his parents insisted on entering. I had to combine my studies with the beginning musical career. However, after the success of one of the singles (it was a song recorded to the music of Michael - "Tupac Back", which hit the Billboard), the young man decides to quit his studies.

Rise of popularity

The history of relations with Gucci Mane developed. The rapper offered the beatmaker $1000 for each beat. Under these conditions, several joint songs were made.

After that, other stars of the American hip-hop scene began to pay attention to the DJ. Among them: 2 Chainz, Future, Waka Flocka Flame and others. Mike gradually earned popularity and became one of the most sought-after young beatmakers.

Among the successful creations of Michael is the Future song "Turn On the Lights". She hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and finally secured Mike's status as a popular sound engineer and producer.

From that moment on, the young man received offers of cooperation every day. By the end of 2011, the catalog of artists with whom Mike collaborates has dozens of top stars. Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Kanye West are just some of the names.

At the same time, the young man collects his own mixtapes, in which he invites all rappers to participate in cooperation. It turned out that famous rappers not only read Mike's music for their albums, but also participated in Mike's recordings.

Continued career Mike Will Made It. present tense

Until 2012, he was a popular artist who did not release a single solo album. Everything that came out was called singles or mixtapes. In 2013, the situation changed. Beatmaker announced the release of his own album. Moreover, he said that the release will be released by Interscope Records, one of the largest labels in the US.

Nevertheless, everything was limited only to the release of a number of successful singles. The album was shelved for many years. Perhaps this was due to the increased popularity of singles in comparison with full-fledged releases, or employment in other projects.

Mike wrote music not only for rappers, but also for pop stars. In particular, he produced the Miley Cyrus record "Bangerz", which brought a lot of new listeners to the performer.
