Childhood and youth of Dmitry Shurov

Dmitry Shurov's birthplace is Ukraine. The future artist was born on October 31, 1981 in Vinnitsa. Dima's childhood and youth were completely filled with creativity. The fact is that Shurov's mother was a piano teacher, and his father was an artist.

From the biography of Shurov, it becomes clear that the parents tried to bring their son into the people. Dmitry received his education in France.

A little later, the young man moved to the United States of America. In the US, he was a student at a local college, and, in addition, played in a jazz orchestra.

Dmitry perfectly knew French and English. At 18, he made the decision to leave the United States. Dmitry was attracted to his native country. In Kyiv, a young man became a student at a linguistic university.

When asked about the tracks, the artist replies that work on the first record began in his teenage years. It was then that Dmitry and his sister Olga began to compose the first musical compositions in English.

Interestingly, Dmitry studied on the same stream with such famous Ukrainian personalities as: Irena Karpa, Kasha Saltsova, Dmitry Ostroushko.

One of the friends of the bassist of the Okean Elzy group, Yuri Khustochka, heard how Dmitry Shurov plays the piano. In the second year of higher education, Shurov dropped out and began working in the Ukrainian group Okean Elzy.

In 2000, Dmitry became part of the group. The first musical composition that he learned with the group was "Oto Bula Spring". Dmitry Shurov is credited as co-author of the track. Shurov's debut concert took place in Odessa in 2000.

Since 2001, Shurov has been a permanent member of the group. As part of the Okean Elzy group, the young man took part in the recording of two studio records.

Dmitry played at concerts that took place on the territory of Ukraine and the CIS. We are talking about the performances of Vimagai the Bigger (2001), Supersymmetry Tour (2003), Pacific Ocean (2004), Better Songs for 10 Rocks (2004).

In 2004, Dmitry Shurov decided to leave the legendary group. A few years later, the leader of the Okean Elzy group, Vyacheslav Vakarchuk, said that he was very upset that Dmitry left his project. He believes that Shurov is one of the best musicians in Ukraine.

But Dmitry explained his decision as follows: “Inwardly, I understood that I had outlived myself in the Okean Elzy group. I wanted inner freedom, so to speak. I wanted to create a single creative team.”

Esthetic Education and Zemfira

After the final departure from the Okean Elzy group, Dmitry decided to join the Esthetic Education musical group. Under his leadership, the band's soloists presented the fans with two albums, Face Reading and Werewolf. Dmitry took part in the recording of the records, in fact.

With the tracks included in the presented records, the musicians laid the foundations of the next generation of indie music.

Despite all the originality of the musical compositions, from a commercial point of view, the work was not successful. Communication between the musicians was lost, in 2011 the group broke up.

Between 2007 and 2008 Dmitry Shurov collaborated with Russian rock singer Zemfira. In addition, the musician was a co-producer of the singer's album "Thank you".

In addition, Shurov, as a pianist, played a large concert tour in support of the record - about 100 performances, one of which was a concert (later appeared on DVD).

The recording was directed by Renata Litvinova. The concert "Green Theater in Zemfira" took place on the territory of Moscow in the Green Theater.

After leaving the Zemfira team, Dmitry began work on the opera Leo and Leia. Part of the opera was performed in Paris at a show by fashion designer Alena Akhmadullina.

In the process of working on the opera, Dmitry had the idea of ​​creating his own musical group. Shurov did not have to think for a long time what to do next.

He became the founder of the Pianoboy group. Sister Olga Shurova made a great contribution to the development of the musical group.

For the first time under the creative pseudonym Pianoboy Dmitry Shurov performed in 2009 on the territory of Moloko Music Fest. In November, the presentation of the debut musical composition, which was called "Meaning. No", took place on radio and television. And on December 29, 2009, Pianoboy played his first solo concert.

In 2010, the singer informed his fans that he had started recording his debut album. And with these words, the young performer went on a club tour of the major cities of Ukraine.

In 2011, Dmitry Shurov, together with his colleagues Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, Sergey Babkin, Max Malyshev and Pyotr Chernyavsky, presented the disc "Brussels" (a joint album of musicians).

And only in the spring of 2012, the singer presented his solo album “Simple Things” to fans of his work, and in September 2013 the disc “Don't stop dreaming” was released. In the same year, Dmitry received the ELLE Style Awards in the "Singer" nomination.

Interestingly, Dmitry managed to perform in the old line-up of the Okean Elzy musical group in 2013 at the Euromaidan and at the anniversary concert at the NSC Olimpiysky.

In addition, Shurov was the author of music for the musical performance "Cinderella", based on the play by Yevgeny Schwartz.

In 2017, the Ukrainian performer joined the judging panel of the musical show "X-factor" (season 8). In one of his interviews, Dmitry Shurov admitted that he does not believe that the X-factor is a vocal show, most likely, this project has slightly different tasks.

“I don’t think that strong vocals are the road to the stage and the top of the musical Olympus. For example, for me it is much more important whether the performance of the artist gives goosebumps. If he calls, then this is definitely the person who will fall into the Shurov team.

Dmitry admits that he is monogamous, and it is also difficult to seduce him, since he is a faithful monogamous. Dmitry is married. His chosen one was a girl named Olga. After the couple legalized the relationship, Olga took her husband's surname.

The couple has a son, Leva, who was born in 2003. For Dima, Olga is both a wife and a part-time personal assistant. Olga Shurova is the PR manager of the Shurov musical group. For many years, the couple has been united by personal and work affairs.

Dmitry often says that he smells life. In one interview, he said that his love with his wife smells of October, chrysanthemum flowers, Crimea and his son.

The musician does not like being lisped with. In Dmitry's house, it is not customary to feel sorry for anyone, and he himself cannot be called Dimul.

The artist admits that he loves strong drinks. And by the way, his wife is not against the fact that her husband sometimes drinks. “At such moments, it is much easier to negotiate with Dima,” says Olga Shurova.
