He met Adam Anderson (future bandmate) in 2005. The guys caught themselves on common musical interests. A new acquaintance resulted in a desire to create a new project. This is how the Bureau group was born. The following year, the guys already performed under the creative pseudonym Daggers. At the same time, a presentation of two tracks took place, thanks to which the duet was noticed.
A few years later, at one of the concerts, the duo would attract the attention of Richard "Biff" Stannard (the owner of Biffco). He offered the guys cooperation, and she did not even hesitate to agree. So, a new project appeared on the musical arena - Hurts.
By the way, the name of the group carries a hidden meaning: one of the meanings of the word hurt is to hurt, to hurt. The musicians of the group confirm that they really write music that causes people to certain emotions. They say that Hurts tracks are psychotherapy for the soul.
Before they succeeded, the guys spent several years in oblivion. Nobody was interested in their work, so they had to be content with little. Musicians drowned in poverty. In addition to working in a recording studio, they were looking for additional income. Early on, they weren't fed songs and had to improvise. During this difficult period, Theo changed several jobs. “When you move to London, you hope that your life must definitely change for the better. But other realities await you. You move into a simple apartment, eat the cheapest Chinese noodles there, put on a suit and go outside to convince everyone that you deserve to perform on the best stage in the world.
