The composition, time and place of the founding of Twiztid

Twiztid has 2 members: Jamie Madrox and Monoxide Child. The group appeared in 1997. The band was founded in Eastpointe, Michigan, USA. Currently, the group is mainly based in Detroit, but the band is known and loved throughout the country.

Twiztid started out as an alternative hip hop group. The guys performed horrorcore, adding elements of standard rock to it. In fact, it is difficult to give a certain genre gradation of the group. In the work of the group there is not only rock, but also hip-hop, rap.

Twiztid: How it all began

James Spaniolo (known under the pseudonym Jamie Madrox) and Pol Metric (Monoxide Child) met during their school years. The guys got involved in music together. Under the leadership of the later famous rapper Proof, they composed and rapped. The guys participated in freestyle battles at the Hip Hop Shop. They, unlike Proof, have never been in the forefront.

Breaking into the music world was not so easy. The guys tried to make themselves known, but at first they had to limit themselves to small things. Starting with the distribution of leaflets, the opportunity soon arose to organize a group of their own.

In 1992 House of Krazees appeared. The line-up consisted of 3 members: Hektic (Pol Metric), Big-J (James Spaniolo) and The ROC (Dwayne Johnson). From 1993 to 1996, the group released 5 albums that did not achieve popularity. The team turned out to be the main competitor of the Insane Clown Posse group, which had achieved recognition.

The guys did not quarrel, but, on the contrary, agreed on cooperation.

In 1996, due to problems with the label and disagreements within the team, Big-J left the group. House of Krazees has ceased to exist.

Creation of Twiztid

Pol and James were left without a team, but with a great desire to continue their creative work. The guys from Insane Clown Posse invited their friends to contact Psychopathic Records, with which they themselves interacted. Under the leadership of the label, a new group was created, which was given the name Twiztid.

Changing member aliases

Having formed a new group, the guys decided to leave everything that was in their creative activity earlier in the past. It was decided to change the aliases. James Spaniolo became Jamie Madrox. The new name referred to the beloved comic book character. This is the many-sided villain with whom the former Big-J associated himself.

Pol Metric became Monoxide Child. The new name is derived from the carbon monoxide emitted by cigarettes. Here is such a "caustic" composition set to work.

Twiztid: Getting Started

The start of the band's career was quiet. The guys often performed as the opening act for Insane Clown Posse. It was a good opportunity to introduce the public to my work. In 1998 the band released their debut album, Mostasteless.

It was full of "strong" lyrics, and the cover turned out to be inappropriately ominous. Soon, due to censorship, the record had to be re-released. They changed not only the design, but also the content.

Release of the second album "Mostasteless" (Re-Release)

The public received Twiztid's first album well, but it was still too early to talk about success. In 1999, the guys decided to release a compilation album. The album includes tracks excluded from the first collection, new creations. As well as collaborations with Insane Clown Posse. In addition, songs from newcomers to the genre, Infamous Superstars Incorpated, appeared here.

In early 2000, Twiztid went on a major international tour for the first time. Surprisingly, the group collected large venues. The audience liked frank texts, bright appearance and incendiary behavior of the team.

Intention to start own label

Twiztid began to gather a lot of new talent around them. The guys tried to help the newcomers, they often appeared at their concerts, participated in the recording of records. Twiztid set out to create their own label specifically for freaky up and coming artists.

Until the end of 2012, the band worked with Psychopathic Records, then released several albums on their own. After that, the guys organized their own label.

Twiztid side projects

The members of Twiztid also ran several side projects while working in this group. Dark Lotus is the first third-party collective organized together with the members of Insane Clown Posse. The Psychopathic Rydas were a bunch of freaky guys doing some sort of plagiarism.

Wrestling activity

Both members of the Twiztid group are wrestlers. Since 1999, they have participated in fights without rules. The guys periodically performed, but each time they were disappointed in the results. For bright achievements, professional training was necessary, which took a lot of time. Already in 2003, the guys stopped entering the ring.

Passion for horror films and comics

Twiztid members cite horror films and comics as their main hobbies. On these topics, the musical image is mainly built. Often in creativity, design there are motives of these directions.
