Childhood Gwen Stefani

Her parents introduced her to folk music and artists such as Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris. They also instilled a love for musicals such as Sound of Music and Evita.

She attended Loara High School in Anaheim, California and suffered from dyslexia. She made her stage debut during a talent show at Loara High School to sing I Have Confidence from The Sound of Music.

Band period No Doubt

Before success, Gwen landed her earliest job cleaning floors at Dairy Queen and worked at a local department store. Her singing career began in 1986. Her brother Eric, along with friend John Spence, created No Doubt.

Eric used to be the keyboardist for No Doubt. He then left the group to pursue an animation career on The Simpson while Gwen became the band's vocalist. This happened after original frontman John Spence committed suicide in December 1987. This required hard work from the band members, who released their third album over the course of three years.

However, they finally released their third album, Tragic Kingdom (1995). Several hits followed, starting with the single Just a Girl.

Parting and knowing yourself singer Gwen Stefani

After the success of the Tragic Kingdom album, Gwen became more popular and recognizable. The same applies to the band's successful video for the song Don't Speak, which was included on the same album. Many of the tracks were inspired by Gwen's relationships. As well as breaking up with bandmate Tony Kanal, whom she dated for 8 years.

After parting with the man she loved very much, Gwen fell into depression. And this tormented her even more after the exhausting tour of the Tragic Kingdom album.

The world seemed so languid in Gwen's eyes. And so she believed until she met guitarist Gavin Rossdale at a concert in which she played with the band No Doubt in 1996. After Gwen agreed to marry Rossdale, her life sparkled with new colors. On September 14, 2002, she married in a wedding dress designed by John Galliano.

In December 2005, during a concert in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the singer confirmed that they would have a child. And on May 26 of the following year, the couple had a boy, Kingston James McGregor Rossdale.

Gwen Stefani solo career

In addition to her activities as the frontman of the band No Doubt, the beauty is also known for her solo career. She once became very famous for duets in 2001 with Moby (Southside) and rapper Eve (Let Me Blow Ya Mind). She became the first artist in history to win the Best Male Video and Best Female Video awards at the 2001 MTV VMAs.

Gwen then recorded her first solo album, Love. Angel. music. Baby. (2004). The compilation gained wide popularity thanks to the first single What You Waiting For? It debuted successfully at number 1 on the Australian ARIAnet chart and at number 4 on the UK chart.

What's more, another single from the set, Hollaback Girl, also helped skyrocket the album's sales to 350 copies in its first week. As it superbly topped the US Pop 100 charts for four consecutive weeks. This led to the album also being certified platinum with 1 million copies.

Second album

The second album was released on December 4, 2006 outside of North America and in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

On the set of The Sweet Escape, Gwen collaborated with Tony Kanal, Linda Perry and The Neptunes on some tracks. She has also worked with Akon and Tim Rice-Oxley. The first single released from the album was the title track Wind It Up. She presented it on the Harajuku Lovers Tour in 2005.

Thanks to this song, the album sold 243 copies in the first week. It debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200. And another 149 copies were sold in its second week.

Two more singles came out of the album and became successful, like the first one. Thanks to the tracks The Sweet Escape and "4 AM", the sales of the album increased. It reached over 2 million worldwide.

While Stephanie "promoted" The Sweet Escape, No Doubt worked on the album without her and planned to complete it after her The Sweet Escape Tour was finished. Several circumstances, including Stephanie's second pregnancy, slowed down the songwriting and recording process.

The band continued to work on the album while going on tour. The album Push and Shove, originally released in 2010, was released in 2012. In October 2013, the band's activities were suspended again. But she hinted that she would regroup in 2014.

Turning point in the career of Gwen Stefani (2014-2016)

Stephanie then took up her solo career again. In April, she joined The Voice as a coach, replacing Christina Aguilera on a temporary basis.

Later that year, she said that she was working on the No Doubt album and a solo album at the same time. She teamed up with co-creator and colleague on The Voice Pharrell Williams for a solo project. She announced it with Baby Don't Lie and Spark the Fire.

The songs failed to attract listeners. She spent the rest of 2014 and most of 2015 joining other singers in her projects. Gwen participated in the albums Maroon 5, Calvin Harris, even Snoop Dogg. She has also recorded songs for film soundtracks.
