History of Jet

The idea to assemble a rock band came from two brothers from a small village in the suburbs of Melbourne. Since childhood, the brothers have been inspired by the music of classic rock artists of the 1960s. Future vocalist Nic Cester and drummer Chris Cester formed the band with Cameron Muncey.

In addition to musical hobbies, they were connected by an old friendship, as well as a joint part-time job in their youth. In 2001, the group decided on the final name.

A year later, the team members met Mark Wilson and invited him to their team. The guy was already a member of another group, so he refused the offer of young musicians. Luckily, the bass player's decision changed a few days later. At the end of 2001, a team of four talented young people began to write musical material.

The artists also collaborated with the largest advertising companies in the world.

Jet's first vinyl record

The young team in 2002 released their first disc called "Dirty Sweet". The team decided to release the debut collection exclusively on vinyl with a circulation of 1000 copies. The record was in incredible demand. Such success pushed the musicians to release an additional 1000 records.

The vinyl compilation became popular outside of Australia, especially in the UK. In early 2003, the musicians entered into an agreement with the successful label Electra. In the spring of the same year, sales of the debut vinyl "Dirty Sweet" began in the United States.

Despite the direct result of the second studio album, the musicians were still in demand. "Jet" actively participated in major music festivals at home and abroad. The group performed on the same stage with "Muse","The Killers" and "My Chemical Romance».

After the release of the album, the musicians presented a new composition "Falling Star". She became the main soundtrack in the third film about "Spider-Man". Latest album

The band's latest compilation, Shaka Rock, was released after a year-long hiatus. Not all songs from the collection became successful. The record was received ambiguously, mostly neutrally. Only the compositions "Black Hearts", "Seventeen" and "La Di Da" won success among the fans. The group's third disc became successful at home, but it did not receive overwhelming popularity abroad.

For the next 2 years, the team performed at concerts with more sought-after stars. In 2009, the group warmed up the audience for the performances of the popular trio "Green Day".

Jet Decay

After eleven years of existence, in the spring of 2012, the Australian boys-band announced the cessation of creative activity. The team thanked all their fans through social networks for their devotion and support. The stars also stated that they would not stop releasing copies of their studio CDs. After the announcement, all members of the group focused on their other projects.

Four years later, there was a rumor that the team would resume creative activity. Representatives of the musicians said that in 2017 the band will perform on the summer tour of the E Street Band. However, the band only played live at the New Year's Eve show at the Gasometer Hotel in Melbourne. The headliners played a concert of 23 songs.
